Are updated Navtec North America maps available

I checked the Navteq web site and it says newly released maps are available, but nowhere can I find a release date. They had indicated the updated maps would be released in Feb. Does anyone know if the "newly released" maps are in fact the scheduled February updates? Thanks in advance.

I just recently checked the Navteq site. It said the last set of updated NA maps were released June 2005. They charge $99 US for them.

...or you could do like I did and dump their overpriced upDATES and get another equal (some think BETTER) program on the same NavTeq base for the same price. BTW their (iGuidance) updates are free and their upGRADES are at reduced prices.

For example only see: http://www.semsons.com/ignavsof.html

Hi... newbie to this great site and about to switch from iPaq/Navman/Mapopolis to X51v/BT338 and maybe iGuidance. Before I call in my order, should I be thinking about another mapping product? I don't want to buy whatever is in stock only to have it superceded in 2-4 weeks and then have to pay for an update. I'm focusing on the USA and specifically the Northeast/New England regions.
