Jeb:

hard wiring your power is VERY easy. The way I did it with the bluetooth speakerphone for my wife's car (which had to be hard wired) was the following:

1. Pick up an "add-a-circuit" fuse tap at your local auto parts store. These are little circuits that slide into a fuse slot and look like this:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...373067-9730516

2. Next, select either a switched or unswitched fuse in which to tap into. Use a switched circuit if you want it to go off when you turn off the key, use an unswitched circuit if you want power to the PDA when the key is off. You can use a multimeter to sort them out. Touch one end to the back of any fuse and the other end to a ground location to see if there is power to the circuit with the key off and on.

3. Swap out the fuse you want to tap with the add-a-cuircuit. It will give you a DC power source for the PDA. The other wire just goes to a ground location. The add-a-circuit has two fuse slots on it, one for the fuse of the original circuit you are tapping, and the 2nd fuse for the new curcuit you created.

4. Get a hard-wire kit for the PDA or mount you are using. Seidio makes them. You could probably find the right tip and wire at radio shack. Then you just run the wire from your fuse box location under the dash to where you want it to come out.

car fuses come in various shapes and sizes so make sure you get the right one.

Also, probably best to tap one of the fuses that is not operationally crucial. Like the radio fuse. Rather than something that is crucial. Like the ignition or headlights. My fuse box was labeled so I could tell which was which. I tapped the radio fuse for switched power and the daytime running lights fuse for the unswitched power (I needed both switched and unswitched power for the bluetooth speakerphone).

Finally, I think these add-a-circuit kits are limited to 10 amp fuses so you'll want to tap a fuse that is 10 amp or less. Some of the big fuses like the headlight and heater fuses are as much as 30 amps.

So with the LoBoy adhesive mount I should be good to go for everything but the integrated sound.
That's the way it looks to me. And, the swivel on the Seidio can be removed and
just mounted to a "hard" cell phone mount. **Note the cell phone mounted.**
