Hey guys I am new to these forums so please bare with me. I am planning on getting a Axim for my dad in the near future. The main feature that he wants it for is the GPS. I was looking on the Dell site and see that they also offer there own GPS kit with the Axim. What I wanted to know was that is that all i need to get the GPS up and running in the USA? IS there any other software i will need or hardware to buy to get it to function? Any help is appreciated. Thank You

There are other solutions. buyGPSnow.com and semsons.com both offer packages of GPS receivers and software that may be better than the Dell offering. I'd suggest you read the reviews here at Aximsite, along with other locations on the web, and then see what deal you can get on a GPS/software package from those vendors.

this may just be tips and you might have to buy elsewhere but it does give you an idea of pricing and what to get

I got axim x51v for Christmas (1st pda i've owned) after hours of research I just bought the seidio g4850s seidioonline.com It is the holder and sirf III gps and the iguidance software. It was so easy to install the software and easy to set up (took bout 5 minutes) I've been using it all over town and its great. very accurate easy to use looks nice on the dash, voice activated as well.
