Anyone Using X51v-TomTom-GS-SD502 GPS Combo?

If you are, I'd appreciate it if you would check the settings listed below and post your information here. I'm running WM5, ROM A06, Fake Server Trick, have a 2 Gig CF card in the back, and the Globalsat SD-502 in the SDIO slot. I cannot get TT past the "configure" screen options. I am using Mapopolis, which is in my CF storage card, so I know the GPS works.

I also know TT is supposed to be intuitive, but it would be nice if they had a option whereby you could actually set up everything inside the program. The fact that yours is working and mine isn't makes me believe that some obscure setting is different. Why don't you list all your settings so I can replicate what works without shooting in the dark?

If you go into Start-Setings-System-GPS you'll have three (3) tabs; Programs, Hardware, and Access. Click on these tabs and list what you have:

1st Tab - GPS Program Port: COM X
2nd Tab - GPS Hardware Port: COM X and XXXX Baud
3rd Tab - Access/Manage GPS Automatically [Checked or Unchecked?]

Next, go to Start-Programs-GPSinfo and you'll have several areas that have options:
Top Left: COM Port Type (looking for; Serial, IrDA, GPSUart, and IrComm. What is your selection?

The Baud Rate drop-down is top right corner of the screen, so what baid rate works on your system?

Second line down from the top are the SCAN - START/CLOSE GPS, and the Cold Start button. What is showing on your system, are any grey'd out? I've tried activating the scan function, but nothing seems to happen.

Third line down gives you checkbox options for VTG, WAAS, and PowerSave. Do you have any of these checked?

On the bottom, switch to the GPS Info tab, and tell me if you're seeing data. Hopefully, if I get your settings, I should be able to get this "system" going. I'll assume that you have selected "Other" NMEA cable-connected device, but if you have something else selected when you configured, tell me.

Lastly, I bought TT5 7 days ago NIB, and it's v.5.10, so I downloaded and "tried" to install the 5.2X patch, however... I don't see any change with regard to version... mine still says "v.5.10" so is that right?

Thanks in advance for the help.

Just a quick update even though nobody has responded (maybe someone else is considering this combo).

Yesterday a Level 2 Tech from TomTom USA called me back and said that TT5 is _not_ compatible with PDAs running WM5. He further said that they have not yet tested the GlobalSat SDIO GPS (SD-502) and could not confirm that it would work with TT5 software. He then said that he had heard that some people _have_ got their X51v/WM5 devices working with TT5, but he did not know exactly how they did that or whether it would be reliable. He also suggested that the first thing to try would be the latest TT5 PPC upgrade to v.5.21.

I did the registry fix that has been mentioned elsewhere in the GPS threads, and I installed the v.5.21 patch yesterday afternoon. Eureka! It's working, but not on COM1 like I thought it would... I selected COM4 in configuring TT. Is it reliable? I truly don't know... but after driving to several loactions yesterday... everything seems fine.
