Hi guys:

The X5 finally died on me so I just placed an order for a spanking new X51v and the Seidio G4850 powered mount with integrated GPS.

99% of my PDA usage is in the car running mapopolis and/or playing Mp3 through the car stereo. So I don't really need a super-protective case. Mostly just a case to pop the Axim into when I park the car in a suspicious area and don't want to leave it in the mount.

So I'm wondering if there are any cases that I can put on the Axim that will still allow it to be put into the Seidio mount without removing the case?

Can anyone make any suggestions?

I have a seidio 2500g which is probably a similar fit to the one you're getting, if not exact. I have a 1800mAh battery and I have to squeeze it into the cradle. I'm shocked it fits. No aluminum case will work with the standard battery. My guess is that maybe the Sena case will work. I just measured my Sena case against the 1800 battery and they're virtually the same thickness, meaning that the Sena will fit. However, buy it at your own risk. I'm just telling you what I observe w/the hopes it will help you, but I can't guarantee that your cradle is the exact size as mine, nor can I guarantee your Sena's leather will be exactly as thin as mine.

My wife has the Sena case with her X50v so I can always test-fit using that case. The Sena case does allow the PDA to fit into the cradle which was a necessity.

I didn't know if anyone else had come up with a good option.

Judging from how the X5 fits into my old Seidio G2500 mount I suspect that no case would have worked. But I never used a case with the X5 so I never tried.

Well the Seidio arrived today and I answered my own question.

There's not the remotest chance that the PDA will fit into the mount while wearing the Sena case or any other case for that matter. The new G4850 mount is tighter fitting than the older mount and I can't see anything thicker than a piece of paper fitting between the PDA and mount.

Guess the only solution is cases that are removable. I don't want the naked PDA rolling around in my glove box or pack when not in use.

Have the Aximsite Sena case, and others as well.

None fit the Seidio vent mount, or the Seidio suction, glass mount.
Always, out-of-case, for these mobile mounts. So sorry, wish they fit but, they
don't.

Do love the Sena "limited edition" Aximsite case. Great.
I would let this limited edition case go for $750.00 today, but cry 'bout it!

Sena case does fit the cradle at the PC. That's good!

I have numerous cases, the Seidio mount doesn't work with any case from my experience but,
like the Seidio mount, small inconvenience for the pleasure.

What is this aximsite limited edition Sena case? Never heard of it.

edit....

Never mind, I found it. I'm an all-black sort of person when it comes to stuff like this. Is it any different from the plain black cases? Like are there special secret pockets or something?
