I hope this is in the right section

First I would like to say i am a proud new axim x51v owner/user.

After spending a while trying to install tomtom nav on my x51v, I finally got it to work! It also added a new bar on my today screen whitch made it very easy to open TTN.

This bar has now gone, and allthough still appears in my "Today" items list and is ticked, I think this happened after i performed a soft reset.

Does anyone know a simple solution in getting the today shortcut back (preferably without uninstalling tomtom, or doing a hard reset)

Go to your Settings page and select "Today" from settings. Go to the "Items" tab and choose "TomTom" from that list. This should put the item back on your "desktop"

Thanks for replying but I have tried this several times, including deactivating and resetting the pda, then turning back on reactivating and resetting all to no avail.

I can disable and re enable all the other items in the today menu except for Tomtom.

Any further suggestions are appreciated

Hi there,

I am in the same situation. Maybe this can help. I am using a program called "launcher" (to get more icons on the Today screen. http://www.scottandmichelle.net/scott/cestuff.html) and have a shortcut that appears in the today screen, along with all the other icons I want to see on it. I find it useful and better than having tomtom on its own.

What do you think?

Appreciate your response, but I have done this allready using spb Pocket Plus.

Allthough this is an acceptable alternative I would still like to know how to get the original TomTom shortcut back on the today screen so if somebody does know the solution please post.

I had the same problem. My solution was to untick the TomTom item under Today Items.
Selct OK. Then go in again and tick the TomTom item.

Could the another today screen plugin be above the tomtom plugin and is pushing past the bottom of the screen? Did you try unchecking everything except the tomtom plugin or try moving the tomtom plugin to the top of the list?

Hello everbody. I had the same problem, but I found the way to fix it. Go to add/remove programs on your PDA nad find "TomTom Today" in the list of your programs. Uninstall it. Then connect your PDA to PC. From ActiveSync menu choose Add/Remove Programms. It will pop-up a window with list of your installed programms. In that list find "TomTom Today". You will notice that there is no check mark on the left side. Put a chek mark and hit OK. It will reinstall "TomTom Today" plugin. Aftre it appears on your screen you can move it up and down using Seetting -> Today -> Items -> TomTom -> Move up or Move Down
