I have the Dell Navteq (feb 2005 version A02) GPS and I want to know if it is possible to avoid blocked roads without always having to detour around them.

The street where I live is blocked at one end and it is really irritating when the SatNav guides me to the blocked end of my street. When I try to drive round and enter the street from the correct end I keep getting messages to perform a U-turn.

Any ideas?

With TomTom you can tell it to avoid certain parts of the journey and find an alternative. Maybe Navteq can do that too?

Yes you can do that with Navteq. But its a bit annoying that every time I want to use it I have to waste time telling it to avoid the wrong end of my street. :-(

Also it sometimes redirects me to the same end of my street, just from a different direction! ARRRGGGHHHH

I wish that there was a way to simply tell the PDA "That streets blocked" and it remembers.
