I finally got my Globalstat BT-338, and am using that with the x51v and iGuidance 2.1.3. The Dell Nav software is a repackaged version of iGuidance, and I heard the Dell GPS receiver is a repakcaged BT-338 (?).

Everything works very well - no problems creating the partnership initially. And once created, the x51v and BT-338 pair up quite fast without any need to recreate the partnership again. I just turn on my BT-338, wait some seconds to a minute for it to acquire the satellite signal. Turn on my x51v and then turn on Bluetooth. Open up iGuidance and it's all set and ready. - totally painless. It would be nice if iGuidance were to turn on Bluetooth automatically on start-up though. The BT-338 can even pick up the satellite signals while in the glove compartment.

I've used iGuidance since version 1.0, and like the interface, but there are a few small issues I'm waiting for them to fix with 2.1.3 (non-working Theme.ini with WM5 mainly, and full D-Pad support would be nice). But overall, it's very fast on the x51v - fast startup and VERY fast route creation. Nice loud, clear voice on the x51v without the need for a powered car mount. I wish it would initiate the re-routing a little faster like the older version though, but I can see how re-routing too soon after a missed turn can cause problems too (inaccurate info causing the program to think you're off-route and constantly doing re-routes).

Overall, I'm very happy with the package. Btw, I ordered my BT-338 from buynowgps.com (10% discount - find code on this forum) and got the Arkon CM-920 which is a great car mount - fits my x51v in the magnesium case perfectly.

I'm another one using OCN BT339 with iGuidance 2.1.3 with the Arkon DM320 mount. I too got it from buyGPSnow for a reasonably priced package deal. I got the order within 72 hours of ordering, in Canada. Software setup went without a hitch. I had to do a couple of things in the settings that I had to look up in the manuals/FAQ's to get the X51V communicating with the receiver.

After using it for fairly short trips for about a week, I have noticed only 1 hitch when I went on a longer out-of-town trip over Easter. The communication between the receiver and the Axim stopped when the receiver turned off automatically (I had it on battery power, not hooked up to the mount), and I could not get it to reconnect by turning the receiver on/off/on. Of course, I could only try a few things while driving alone.

The speaker on the mount was OK - I was playing some mono music files on the Axim during the drive. The volumes on the Axim and the mount had to be adjusted a bit, but you can get reasonably audible (it was in a Corrolla which is a quiet compact) sound without distortion while driving.

Overall, I am quite pleased with this combo. The learning curve has not been bad at all. The maps are detailed enough to show gravel side-roads in the country in the area where I was driving. It adjusted reasonably well when I took a few alternative routes, though there was one time when it told me to do a U-turn on a highway.

Yes, sometime you just need to use common sense. It sometimes loses track of my direction when I'm stopped at a light and thinks that maybe I decided to pick up the car and point it in another direction. But once I start moving again then it recovers.
