X50V and BC-337 CF GPS problem

I apologize for re-posting if there was a thread I missed. This is my problem... I just bought the CF GPS BC-337 from GlobalSat for use with X50V. I tried TomTom 5...the program runs but won't recognize the CF. Next, I tried Destinator 3...it installed ONCE then I uninstalled to fix it since it did not recognized the CF again now it won't install at all...it says unknown processor or OS. Also, tried MS Street and Trips and Autoroute 2006 and again, nothing. I now know that the GPS is NMEA 1.8 and not 2.0 but another person I work with has it on a X51V and all but TomTom works for him. Please let me know what I'm doing wrong here, this is my first GPS system and I'm not impressed by it.:rolling: __________________ I once had 4 apples, I ate 1 and now I have 3!
