It's quite simple. The most important thing is to do NOTHING with the gps utility in settings as it seems to only screw things up. You need to install a driver to get the card slot to work, and the unit doesn't seem to like the sysem if it's not installed on some devices. It should work by simply pluging in the unit, starting your GPS software (unless it's TomTom 5.X which doesn't seem to work with CF gps) and have it check for the proper com port (normally 4, 4800 baud). Once you have the software running and and looking at the proper port the led should come on. When it locks you should see it flash. If you' re still having problems or you want to use a CF card in the slot get the driver from the CD or

and install it. This worked on an X50v with WM5, so it should work for you.
