how do I get IGuidance 2.1.3 to detect my BT GPS receiver?
With Tom Tom, it was instantaneous, but with this software, it doesn't seem to pair correctly. Any ideas?

I make sure Bluetooth is running before running iGuidance. It may take a couple of seconds before BT Receiver displays on screen to be able to select it. I use this on my x50v and every so often I have to a soft reset to make things communicate properly.

the problem is not with iGuidance .. it is a question of "have you paired your GPS device successfully with your axim" ! ??
after you have done it sucessfully ... it's a matter of going into iGuidance GPS menu and match up the info ( com & baud )

the com port is 8, and it's set in the program too. I have no idea what baud rate to set...
plus with the WM5 bluetooth stack, i can't figure out how to pair the damn thing before going into the program---ideas?

Oh you haven't done the pairing...? Click on the bluetooth icon, go to the device tab to pair the device, and then make sure it has the port assigned in the com port tab.
I use 38400 for baud rate, but I think it doesn't really matter.

It's strange to pair on WM5. First you pair the device as a gps device, then you have to set an incoming port so that you can receive the data. DO NOT set anything up in the GPS panel under settings as it seems to do nothing but screw things up. I had set an incoming and outgoing port and once correct if I had the gps and bluetooth on before starting Iguidance it would connect immediately every time. I think I used com7 for incomming and com8 for outgoing.

It should be set as an outgoing connection, not incoming.
See these directions: http://www.aximsite.com/boards/showthread.php?t=123096
Set baud for 38400, and either Com 7 or 8, depending on what you set it as in the previous steps when you created the partnership.
