route 66 software

So has anyone here mustered up the courage to try this software yet? it looks really good and am waiting on some one to do an actual review of the new version before i take the leap. currently i'm using Ostia, but from going thru posts on this site as well as gpspassion I can see this software doesn't really compare well to others. I don't have money to burn so i can't just buy software on a whim and shelf it if it doesn't do what i like and go buy another.

Have you tried the Mapoplis demo? That's something you could entertain yourself with while you're waiting on a Route 66 review!

Regards,

Gary

yea i tried it, i liked the fact that it told you which side of the street your destination was on, wish more programs would do that. I want some thing that allows you to load the entire country on 1 disk and take it with you with out always having to load new maps when you cross over the map borders. With Ostia every time i try to plan a route that happens to cross over the state line and then back in again it routes me all over the place taking me down the back roads even though it would have been faster to go straight and turn right and your back in the state. i like the fact that Mapopolis allows you try it before you buy it. for people who have never used a gps program it can be intimidating looking to buy a program and never getting to try it out, more programs should offer this i think it would increase alot of their sales.

Route 66 does not offer this according to the web site. Regional maps only -- LOOK HERE.

Sorry.

So is there any software out there that actually allows you to either load all the maps and travel seamlessly with out loading new ones or that come with a card with all the maps preloaded that allow you to travel seamlessly?

OCN5 with their will do this. iGuidance will also BUT the map is slightly larger than a 2gb card. I leave out Texas ;) and it fits just fine.
