i am wondering if anyone has been able to change the averag default speeds in tomtom navigator 5.
its only a small thing but i have noticed how it seems to show any travel in a 40 mph zone as 37mph, and on a motorway it shows speeds as 66mph.
i take it that this means these are the speeds it works out the route times on. is there any way of adjusting these speeds to suit your own driving.
i.e. if you drive at 32mph in a 30mph or exactly 40 in a 40mph zone or 75mph in a 70 zone. [i am aware of legal issues here] I am wondering if changes can be made to get tomtom5 t oshow a more accurate timing with regards to an individuals driving habits?

The speed shown by TT5 is the more accurate.
The speedometer in your car can, by legislation (UK and Europe), read around 10% under the actual speed but is not allowed to read over. Allowing for things like tyre wear etc. the car manufacturer will always err on the side that gives him the most leeway with regards any legislation i.e. set the indicated speed below the actual road speed by the most amount allowed. Some cars may have a more accurate indication than others. My Ford Focus speedometer reads around 8% under that shown by TT5.
There is no way in TT5 for adjusting the indicated speed or anything derived from it.
