Dell Axim, Tom Tom, card reformat problem

OK, when my GPS bluetooth system is working, it works great. But frequently, I get an error: "Storage Card--- Do you want ot try to format this storage card to make it readable? THis will permanently delete any files on the card."

If I choose "No" the card isn't readable, and if I choose "Yes", I lose all my data and have to install it all over again. The card is a 2.0 gig ATP card I got from www.buygpsnow.com that came with my GPS and software as a package.

Any advice?

BuyGPSnow seems to think the Axim X30 can't take above a 1 gig memory card. Is that true?

Try getting a new card. It's either the card or the slot itself. Obviously, don't be formatting the card when it asks. Say no, then try to reinsert the card.

Copy whatever contents is important to your PC.

Reformat card or reformat HardDrive is good for you. It flush things out and things seems to run faster.
