Screen dim & powering off using GPS.

Sorry to start yet another thread, but cannot find any previous on this issue:

My screen keeps dimming and then the unit powers off whilst using the GPS. This is a recent thing, previously not had the problem. The unit used to stay on, screen lit, no worries.

Should the unit be powering off when the GPS software is active and running?? I am sure this should not be happening.

I do not want to uncheck the 'power off' options so that it never turns off otherswise I will have continual flat batteries to look forward to with the calender reminders doing as they should.

Any ideas?

What GPS software? Some software have configurations to keep the unit on, despite the auto-off settings in the OS.
