Advice please UK GPS hardware / software for X51v

Could someone point me in the right direction. What would be the most cost effective way to add GPS capability to my X51v.

This is for occasional use in UK and maybe on the Continent / Scandinavia. Which software and hardware would work well with the X51v offering good functionality and not break the bank.

Also best source? Ebay?

cant offer much but my exp. I use a SlimGPS 236 Bluetooth GPS unit with TomTom 5 and it's perfect for what I need! I opted for a bt unit as I wanted to use the 2 slots for memory cards.. Not many problems - the BT works really really well (even with the kakki Microsoft Stack) and the GPS unit uses the latest SIRFF III (?) chipset which is meant to be the dogs-what-ya-m-call-its.

A simple set-up IMHO, that works very well...

The other advantage of using a BT GPS unit is that I can use it on other devices that support it...

I've got the Dell Navteq BT unit and it works really well. It will probably cost a bit more but it comes with all the maps for the UK and Europe. You can load up as many or as few as you want and I have found it to be very useful.

Graham2456, at last, an opportunity to test out my config. What Axim have you got? I can't get mine to work consistently. If yours is working ok would you mind telling me all the details of your set up? Hopefully copying it might get mine sorted. Cheers.
