Hello guys,

I've been surfing the GPS section for a while and always read that X51v users should avoid CF/SD recievers. But then again I don't wanna deal with a 2nd power source for a BT reciever and for mobility purposes I prefer a CF solution.

So I am curious if anyone can post a success story with a CF reciever and X51v, maybe along with what navigation software he used.

Another thing, even if its unlikely to get an answer: does anyone know a software that has maps for the adriatic area? Maybe even entire croatia and bosnia?

I have a Fortuna X-track that works perfectly with my X51v. I'm using an older version of Destinator (3.0) which did not work until the developers came out with a WM5 compliant upgrade but the CF card worked fine with a freeware software (cemonitor). Unfortunately I do not think this version of hardware is still sold (I think Fortuna just has sd and BT models now).

I haven't followed the gps forum very closely but I wasn't aware there was a general problem with CF GPS cards on the X51 (although I knew some mapping softwares had problems using them).

unfortunately your model is not being sold anymore - beside I am not sure if it has SiRF Star III already or not and I wanted a SiRF III based reciever. The problems mentioned with the CF slot have been the problems with the mapping software like you mentioned - maybe some derived from the problem that was fixed with the fakeserver trick, not sure.

I'll keep searching then. :)
