WM5 and CF GPS
I am considering upgrading my X50v to WM5 but I have concerns about WM5's compatibility with TT5 and the use of CF GPS.

A friend recently purchased the X51v and installed TT5. A CF GPS (SIRF III) could not be recognised by the unit despite playing around with the GPS settings program on the unit itself. What COMM port is the CF? What COMM port for the software? BT works OK but I have a CF GPS and this is my preference!!

Does anyone out there know a way of getting the CF GPS to work using WM5 and if so, could you be so kind to give a step by step guide on how to do it?

I have a CF GPS working with my X51v and Destinator3 software. Once they provided an upgrade to the software, it was plug and play (I don't 'select' a COM, but the software finds it on COM4).

I hope you've read about the problems with WM5 on the X50. While it works fine on my X51v, there's no way I could recommend to anyone that they upgrade an x50.

1234com, you 'upgrade' with a CD from Dell but it's not possible with the X5.

Actually, my Haicom 303III worked flawlessly, and was quite plug and play on my X50v with WM5. Problem was that WM5 didn't work flawlessly, and I ended up reverting back to 2003. I'd suggest that unless you absolutely must have WM5 for some feature that you stay with 2003 as you'll have nothing but nightmares with the new OS.
