Iguidance voice

Is it just me or does TomTom's voices sound much Clearer then Iguidance?

I wished we could slect some other voice then the Default.

If you are using the defaults, then yes, TomTom voices do sound better/clearer.

Possible that Inav will never upgrade the default voice?

You can create your own voice sounds, check the folder that contains them and edit/create new ones using the open source program Audacity. All you have to do is find a girl or boy with a voice you like and if you do a good job share it with the rest of the world. I am currently working on this but with my heavy accent I doubt anyone would like my voice prompts.

Hmmm. You make it sound too easy. How many voice files are there. I would assume alot. English is very difficult because the way we say syllabols differently. You would think there would be a lot.

I personally don't mind the Iguidance voice. It works fine. And I've heard much worse. Those Magellian commercials sound hidious. I'm not sure about TomTom.

Couldn't you convert TomTom voices to iGuidance? That would be good.

Oh NO!

If you keep using that AT&T site it starts adding "Thank you for using AT&T to the end of the files

Then open it up in a sound editor such as Audacity, or even the built in Windows one, and chop off the end!

And I don't think you can just transfer TomTom voices into iGuidance. Looking around my Axim, I don't think TomTom simply stores them in wav files.

iGuidance voices are fine with me! I didn't test TomTom yet, just got it today, so I can't use it because the GPS is in my mom's car, so I can't complete the setup process.
