problem with GPS after A012 upgrade
I have the 51V and the Dell BT GPS. It's always worked perfectly.
Now when I launch the software, I get this message: "Wrong File Version Data file: linkinfo.bin:LI07 !=LI05"
I click OK and get: "Wrong File Version Data file: names.bin: NM02 !=NM01"
Click OK and the warning message comes up fine.
What do I do?

Have you upgraded to:
Map software = Dell GPS Nav system (DellA00_3689NA) latest download?
Also, I had to delete the map loader software on my PC and do a fresh install. When I re-installed my new map (Ontario and the eastern half of the USA), everything worked fine. Hope this helps.

How do I check for DellA00_3689NA?
I had the older receiver and it stopped working. They sent me an entire new package--software and all. I will remove everything from the PC and the 51V and start over.
Is this the best route?

Start your Dell GPS program on your Axim. Go to: Features (bottom of screen), About Dell GPS. This will tell you what version you are running. This free upgrade installs to your PC. Best route?...this worked for me!

A couple of issues: my "about" screen reads: A00NA Release 3694. Is this newer than yours?
I no longer get the warning file errors. However, I cannot get the 51v to connect to the BT receiver at all.
I have:
mode: turn on BT checked, make device discoverable checked
devices: BT-GPS-33C*** is a partnership
com ports: BT-GPS-33C*** (Com 8)
In the settings-->system-->GPS I have:
Programs: GPS program port: Com 7
Hardware: GPS hardware port: Com 8, Baud 57600
Access: manage automatically is checked
Anything else to set? When I turn on the receiver, wait for lock, launch the software it asks if I want to connect. When I click OK, I get this message:"your dell bt gps is currently paired via the control panel bluetooth applet, try again?"
I try and try but it says the same thing.
What next?

Looks like your version is newer than mine.
My system pairs automatically...I have never gone to Settings, System, GPS.
That said, I turned on my receiver, got a flashing green satellite light, and started the Dell GPS on the Axim. Everything worked as it should. I then looked at the settings under System/GPS. I show:
Programs: None
Hardware: COM7, Baud 57600
Access: Checked
I would try to unpair the GPS and let the software pair automatically.
If that does not work, perhaps someone else can jump in and help.

Forgot about the Bluetooth section...
Under Mode: Turn On Bluetooth is automatically turned on by the GPS program. When I am done with the GPS, I have to manually uncheck this.
Make this device dis...is unchecked.
Under Devices: New Partnership...
Under COM Ports: New Incoming Port

With the new BT-332 system, you need to have a pairing first. Set the program port and hardware port to the same COM.
The new maps are dated Apr. 2006 on the CD box.
