2007 pre-orders are opened, and the handheld software is included with it. also, i checked with them and 2007 will support importing GPX files. yeah for geocachers :)
The one major problem I have with street atlas2006 for PPC is that when navigating its always north up, and also the screen doesnt scroll until you get to the edge.
Not the greatest for Street Nav. But it does shine with the Topos. When you also buy the topo program and just port the Topos over to the handheld. Now with the gpx you have a program that works well for the hikers, backpackers.
I hope they have greatly improved the detail on their maps. They may have more up-to-date roads than the USGS maps, but when they are missing entire islands in a lake, it is a bit distressing.
Not to mention...you can't even think about getting even close to ground level.....If you wanna carry your laptop around with you it's great..... but their handheld solution SUCKS!!!! Sorry, but I waited and waited for them to support WM5....and when they finally decided to I jumped all over SA2006HH & TOPO USA6.0 only to be soooooo disappointed. Using BackCountry Navigator now.... the maps aren't as slick...but you can @ least see where you're @. And if you download the 1:1 aerial photos of your cache site you can get right on top of your prize!!!!
I've been a Delorme fan for a long time.....but I won't go back until I see some drastic changes. My nickel's worth.
Looks like 2007 supports WM5. It is in details of product.
I have sent below e-mail yesterday to Delorme support and I am waiting answer now.

But I have few question:
1) Has SA2007 been tested on Dell x51v with Windows Mobile 5.0? Does it work with true VGA mode?
2) Has the speed of routing improved on SA2007 (handheld) comparable with SA2006? I heard alot of complains about slow routing speed from previous version users.
3) I understand that SA USA map on handheld is not seemless. What is "typical" maximum size of map that I can cut for pocket version? How many miles or km? Is that possible to load the whole state as one map?
3) I am looking to "Sample Map" page on your site.
I see screenshots with raster and vector topo maps. ([url

and https://shop.delorme.com/OA_HTML/Str...ngtonVt_CE.gif)
Do that topo maps included into Street Atlas 2007 DVD? Does Street Atlas 2007 DVD have topo isolines? What is minimum height step?
4) Could I load my self raster maps into SA2007?
5) Are StreetAtlas Plus additional featutes avalable on pocketpc version?
I am talking about that features of SA Plus:
-120 million residential and business searchable phone listings located on maps
-XData import for geo-locating Excel, ACT!, and other data formats
-Embed photos, diagrams, and Web URLs within the maps
6) Could I export MapNotes to extern file (like .xml, .txt or .csv)?
"Access the maps you want from the desktop software and hot-sync to your PDA." Sounds like streets and trips. not very good for a traveler with a pda IMHO

I would be ok if the map cut covers at least 300-500 miles, so I could be change map at gas station where I fill up the tank. When the streets and trips has 100 mile size of map . I would not able to drive far if I stop every 100 miles

Does that mean they have fixed the handheld software, so it actually does what they say it does? I tried the 2005 version which was supposed to do street navigation. It took I forget how many minutes to compute the 11 mile route to work. If I took a wrong turn to force it to reroute, forget it. By the time it computed a reroute, it wanted me to turn on a street I passed two or three blocks back. I complained to their customer service and they said I did not understand how hard it was to program for the PPC. Funny, iGuidance, Tom Tom, OCN5, Mapopolis, destinator, and etc have no problem doing that.
