Don't know if my Holux 236 is working properly

I just got my Holux 236 BT GPS receiver tonight. I charged it with the cable that came with it. I turned it on with the USB cable attached and plugged in to the outlet. The BT light came on pretty much right away. Then, I unplugged the cable, turned it on and the BT lights didn't blink...only the orange light blinked. Then, I plugged the cable in and then the BT light blinked again. I unplugged the cable and it was still blinking. After about an hour, I turned it on without the cable and BT light didn't blink. I plugged in the cable and it blinked again. Do I have a defective unit?

Thanks

No matter whether the unit is being charged or not, the blue light (BT indicator) should start to blink after a few seconds.

Have you tried searching for it with your Bluetooth PDA?

I think something is losse under the battery compartment. I folded a piece of paper a few times and put it under the battery. Now it is connecting everytime no matter if it is plugged in or not. I have a trip in 2 days. When I come back, I will ask for an exchange.

Thanks
