Tomorrow I am going to NYC (from Detroit). Of course I wanted my navigation system to guide me.
So I thought of "preparing" my trip by already entering the addresses etc into my Navigon 5.
Surprisingly (

) Navigon runs out of memory when calculating the route to New York. When I tell it to navigate me to NYC _now_, it will just calculate for a certain amount of time, and then give me a "result" which is just a straight line from Michigan to New York. (bee-line!!!).
When I chose the "Plan Route" option, I enter the destination address, tap "calculate" - wait for several minutes - the route appears (bee-line!!!). If I then tap "simulate", it will calculate again.... and then ends in an "memory allocation error".
I am now wondering why Navigon/OCN5 is such a piece of crap?!!!!
Mapquest or google-maps will give me a route (calculated in about 0.001 sec) which is like taking 3 to 4 highways, and that's it. It's pretty easy, no need for so much memory.
I hard-resetted my PDA (running WM5) today, and just installed Navigon5/OCN5 (so it can have maximum memory) - still the same problem.
any help PLEAAAASE???
I'm so desperate now.... It's really annoying if I have a navigation system... but it's too crappy to be of any use.
(BTW: I also have TomTom, but how do I navigate between the maps? I need to go from Michigan to NYC and then to Canada (Montreal & Toronto))
Thank you very much.
I hope to get an answer soon as I have to leave tomorrow morning
