Aximsitebluetoothicon Dell Axim X5 + TrueMobile 300 BT Card and BT GPS + TomTom5 = Not working

Hiya all, I wonder if someone can help me I've just purchased a BT GPS device, I used a CF GPS device betfore with no problems but I bought a BT GPS so I can use it with my phone aswell. because the X5 doesn't have built in BT, I purchased the belkin card (same as truemobile 300 card) I tried to install it and it basically stalled the axim to the point of soft reset, I looked at the dell website and downloaded the A05 1.5V of the TM300 drivers, installed them and uninstalling the belkin ones and it worked fine! so decided to try it with tomtom. When I goto tomtom, I told it it was another gps device, not a tomtom one, it asked me to pair it which I ddi then it asked me which com port it was on. I'm not sure which one it assigned it but saw on the axim download site that there's an update for support with BT SPP (serial port protrocol? ) so i downloaded it and installed it, it didn't seem to do much apart from flash up a dos box quickly. nothing has changed on the axim and I still get the same problem. How do I install SPP support onto the axim so I can assign a COM port to the bluetooth GPS I have when paired?

I have:
Axim X5 Advanced
PocketPC V4.20.1081 (build 13100)
2GB SD Card which everything is installed on
TomTom 5
Belkin PDA Bluetoth Adapter Card F8T020

Hope someone can help otherwise the BT card and the GPS was a waste of money!

Thanks

Dave

Hi David,

Have you resolved your problem ?

I also have an X5, TomTom 5 & a CF GPS, as the GPS has taken a beating and i had to glue it back together again this week, I was going to upgrade to a BT GPS.

Thanks,

Martyn

Hiya, yes I did finally manage to fix my problem! you need the widcom version of the BT stack, I have it here if anyone needs it, finally then it worked with my BT card, then to get it to work with TomTom you have to create a pairing link in the software beforehand only for the first time, then when in tomtom, don't select any of the bluetooth com ports, but select a wireles GPS reciever and tell it it's on COM1 not bluetooth com1, and it worked!!!

hope it helps!
