iGuidance full-screen?

Sometimes my navigation screen alternates between full screen and the screen with accessible menus on the bottom and the start menu accessible from the top left.

Why does it do this, and how do I stop it from doing this?

Speed. When it detects movement, it shifts to full screen, hiding controls. The idea is you don't need the controls when moving, and more map may be useful. When you slow down (stop) the controls reappear.

it also changes when you touch the screen so that you have access to the other controls.
