One of the biggest things is that the 2007 version does not come with a Pocket Streets edition.

Also worth noting is that the new, smaller, SirfStar III gps unit is compatible with the older BT housing.

I'm guessing the point of the post is that we can't use it on our mobile devices.

That's a shame. Perhaps because the PDA is dead (long live the PDA), and we are all expected to have smartphones that are always connected to the internet for access to Windows Live Local.

Or maybe they got tired of the griping about the PPC version. It's much cheaper to stop developing something than to fix it. They must have maybe 1 person working on Streets & Trips given the glacial pace of innovation in the product.

Help please, I have old MS S&T 2004 on my X50v and it works good for me.

I'd like to upgrade and have waiting for 2007 version and darn no PPC S&T.

What should I do?

Buy S&T 2007 and export maps to my old current PPC 2004 S&T, will that work?

There's a trend here -- MS Money 2007 does not have a PPC version and they don't intend to make one apparently either.

And it's strange the MS drops the Pocket Streets program at the same time that Delorme starts packaging the PPC version free with Street Atlas. Now, maybe they'll get that program up to where it's truely useful.

Yes, the 2007 Streets & Trips does NOT include Pocket Streets 2007 but I just tried and verified that the software still HAS the capability to export to pocket streets and that the Pocket Streets version that comes with the 2006 edition still works with the new maps!

So we should still be ok.

I don't think it matters if they didn't update Pocket Streets. The 05 and 06 version looks about the same to me.

At least you can run S&T on your laptop, tablet, or UMPC.

Try out Mapopolis (10 days free). You will find it works very well as both a dumb map like S&T but also will fully route.

If you need routing on both PC and PPC, then look at iGuidance - software runs on PC PPC and UMPC.
