Laoding TomTom maps on >1gb SD card (North america)???

Hello,
I know iGuiadance lets you select regions to add to your storage card, does tomtom allow this? The maps are too big to manually copy to my storage card. Any suggestions? Its a 1gb CF card & x51v

Thank you,
Josh

No you are not ahead of yourself, Im using TT5 with North America maps, unfortunately I have the same problem, North Americian map is just a little to big for a 1 g card. You can purchase the regions of the USA separately off the TomTom site but I dont know of a way to select a specific region. I am about to buy a 2g card because i'm embarking on a trip to Montreal and want to travel to the USA at the same time. Good Luck.

Thank Glen,
I guess we know that TOMTOM cares more about sucking money from its customers than user friendly-ness.

Yes, you can but indirectly.

I have TT5 and my friend has TomTom Go which comes the US and Canada map on 1 GB SD card. One day, I just decide to replace the map on my SD card with my friends data. Bingo, I can use TomTom Go's 1GB data on my PDA without any issues.

My guess is that TomTom ships 8 CDs and does not have stitch function. Since each CD is only 640MB, it does not have enough space to fit 1GB data.
