Hello everyone, I am new to this site. Hopefully someone can help me with a couple choices.

I have a Axim X5 running the Intel XScale processor and pocket pc 2002. I am considering using my X5 as a GPS unit and have found a fairly affordable CF GPS card at the following web site. The GPS card is a GlobalSat BC-307

Dose anyone have any experience with this card or know if it is a good one?

Additionally, I have no Idea what softward to use. I have found several different brands which are fairly expensive and provide a lot fancy features I would rarely use. At this point all I am looking to do is locate my position, and save waypoints on a good quality 2-D map. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Not sure is that GPS is a good one, but for the program you might want to try 'Navigon Mobile Navigator 5' or '6' if your living in Europe.

I own Haicom-305III which has an extra SD slot, i'm happy with it after I tweaked a little with my Sirf 3 settings : )

For your purposes almost any CF GPS should do. The newer ones are more sensitive, but the accuracy is the same. That 307 unit is older, but still functionally sound.

For software, if all you want is to plot your location, you might look at Mapopolis. It works on the X5 well (I ran it there for years) and the map prices are pretty good if you don't want driving directions.
