gps justified my x51v purchase!
Hi i ditched the brick ppc6700 and bought a sprint razr and x51v with vaja case.
also got gps via iguidance and iblue receiver.
We went to dallas this weekend and we were at out destinations without a problem 98 percent of the time. I couldnt be happier. However in N dallas in frisco there is a lot of construction and that threw off the gps.
Anyway my point here is that I love my axim for the gps. Makes all the money I put into worthwhile. I love it.
any comments on frisco area problems are welcome.
thanks.

I can't agree more. I got X51v for one main reason (helps keep me on the right schedule). But the map software made it a blast.
I also do routing of drivers for large company, I can agree with Fisco and build out. It is causing daily hassels for drivers and software to find and route to an address. We had on point that all the address in one subdivision were all the same GPS location, and the routing software keep ping-ponging the driver between two streets because it "saw" them as the same.

I totally agree also......of all the things I do with my Ax (and I do a lot), the GPS functionality is by far the most useful and the most 'gee whiz' kind of thing.
To think car companies charge thousands of dollars (for mine it's at least 4K) for a GPS unit that you can't even take with you when you change cars or even for walking trips, is really ridiculous, when you can spend far less on something more flexible.

Axim X51v + GPS more than$500~$800 is expensive when you can buy all-in-one GPS navigation system for only less than $300. Typically, Teletype WorldNav 3100, Altrina 6 and many other all-in-one GPS units are less than $300 now

I completely agree about making the purchase worthwhile.
BTW, that $800 figure is high. My X51v was $349, and the BT GPS with software was $139. Woo hoo for Dell deals! Canadian prices, too:approve:

If all you want is GPS mapping and routing, the AIO units are a good way to go. But if you want GPS mapping and routing, the ability to walk around, hike or otherwise operate away from a power supply, plus the functions of a PDA for schedule/email/3rd part apps, etc, then the PDA/GSP solution is more effective. It's all in what YOU need.

I love the Axim solution also. I use it for both vehicla routing with OCN5 and backcountry with MemoryMap.
