Recommendations for lower cost standalone GPS device?

I want to get my brother a GPS device for road trips. He's not too computer savvy I was thinking I could give him my old x50v and a GPS receiver, but I dont want to confuse the guy.

It would need to be portable as he has several different vehicles all the time, and may want to use it on trail rides (horse back), easy to use and accurate. Also online updating of maps (i would be doing this for him) would be good. Also a good price!! =]

Any suggestions?

Thank you!
Josh

...maybe look into the WGPX-550 GPS unit, though I'm looking for people who have actually used this unit for their review before I buy one myself....

I think the Garmin C330 would be a good choice.I use a Garmin 2610 and very happy with it but the C330 is cheaper and does a great job.
