iGuidance 2.1.3NA and Google Earth 4

Is it possible to import recorded track/route information from the following setup into Google Earth for playback?

Dell Axim x50v
iGuidance 2.1.3NA
GlobalSat BT-338

If so, is there software that needs to convert the *.gps files or what? It appears that Google does not support the file format that iGuidance is outputting natively.

Thanks for any help on this...

If the iGuidance saved data is NMEA, you could export it to a text file, comma-delimited, then import to Excel and do some data manipulation to get just the lat/lon data in the format Google Earth wants, then import to a shell .kml file to display. Lots of steps, lots of work. I don't know of any tool to do that automatically for you, but I've not done a lot of searching for one, either.

I am able to convert the *.gps file from iGuidance 3.01 to a Google Earth kml format by using the web site at http://www.gpsvisualizer.com/map?form=googleearth. You can also can create a file for Google maps at http://www.gpsvisualizer.com/map?form=google. I don't own the earlier version of iGuidance, so I don't know if the log file format is the same as the newer version.

gclay, Thank you so much - it worked perfectly; and thanks to everyone else for their input.

Jake, I tried your suggestion before posting, however being unfamilier with what specifically Google was looking for, I was not able to format it correctly and wound up in the middle of the Artic sea.

I have a kml template for displaying locations. It has the header and footer. You put in the lon/lat/alt data in the middle. If you still want it, let me know. I actually got it from the GE tutorial on how to write kml, which was online at Google.
