iGuidance Route Map

I have both iGuidance 3.0 and TomTom 5. I switched to iGuidance from TomTom because the US teleatlas maps weren't cutting it for me. So far I really like iGuidance -- good NavTeq maps, great voice commands, great visual cues (including the current and next street). Routing was better in TomTom however.

So to the question: the one feature I loved in TomTom but that isn't in iGuidance is a high level Route Map -- after you select the destination, you see the entire route mapped. This was a great feature because you could visually verify the route. iGuidance doesn't do this. Even pulling out the map and zooming out doesn't work well because there is a limit to the outzoom (usually can't see the entire route), it's painfully slow, and then you have to reverse the steps and zoom back in for navigation. Am I missing something - is there an easier way to do this? Anyone else wishes this feature exists?

Maybe I need to write an email to iGuidance.

Thanks, Herb

Yes, I guess that feature would be nice. I also have MS Streets & Trips. So, I can use that if I want to view the whole trip on the screen. iGuidance does have a Route List feature. Go to View.Route List and it will show you turn by turn directions. Hopefully, this will help?

I've used the route list feature and although useful, its still not the same as seeing the route on a map.

I asked inavcorp support the same question and here is their response:

Hi Herb:
Unfortunately no. None of the iGuidance versions include route view. It has been discussed internally but we do not know if and when that feature would be added. Our programmers have been reluctant to include that in PPC due to memory requirement for that.

Thank you and we apologize for the inconvenience.

I also use IG3 and it is one of the pitfalls.
