Palm OS Magellan CF GPS

O.K., I have a stupid question. I have an old Handspring Visor and a Magellan GPS CF card receiver. Is there anyway that I can use that CF Card GPS device with any new GPS software like TomTom. The Magellan works on my Visor with Palm OS software, but it is just a green/grey screen with black lines, no scrolling, and nothing else. VERY BASIC and it Kinda sucks. I am also kinda cheap, so I was just thinking if I could get new software for my Axim x50, I wouldn't have to buy a GPS receiver since the Magellan CF card works. Just wondering if this is possible or if I should quit being a tight wad and buy something for my Axim. Thanks.

Really? That's surprising. There are two CF standards, and the Axim is supposed to accept them both. One is slightly thicker than the other, which is why the slot on the axim is a bit wider than most cards need.

It's not a CF card slot on a Handspring Visor, it's a "Springboard" connector. These were a great idea, in that all the Handspring range had the same connector, where the Palm equivalents were different (Palm 3, Palm V, Palm m-series). But they're nothing like any of the other connector types.
