Also do you know if you can import or convert other cartography into the program, ie USGS topo or NOAA nav charts etc.

It's an OK piece of software, but it still has a way to go. It does an acceptable job as a paper map replacement, but it's a bit slow and cumbersome to use. It will use Topo 6 maps, but it will not let you zoom into a level which makes it useful for hiking, etc. as you don't have enough detail. Personally, I like Backcountry Navigator better for topo maps. I got it on sale at Bestbuy for $20 and for the price I can't complain. In many ways I like the older PocketStreets better.
