GPS-Beginner

My X50v runs Windows Mobile 5.0, OS5.1.70. I use Destinator PN (release 05) for navigation, connected by bluetooth to a GNS receiver model 5840. An update for WM 5 for the Destinator program is installed. The Axim freezes frequently while navigating, screen is white or just shows the last map. Usually the Destinator program can not be terminated any more, there is no reaction to any input on the touch screen. The only way to escapeis to make a soft reset. Other programs work all right.
The failure is reproducible: it always when driving on the highway at a certain location between Pforzheim and Karlsruhe (Germany), but not when driving the same road in the opposite direction. Failure happens on different roads as well.
Neither Dell nor Destinator hotline could help.
Is there someone who could support me to solve this problem.

My first reaction was "don't drive the road between Pforzheim and Karlsruhe" but that's probably not practical. It sounds like a data problem in the map database that is crashing out the application. I'd try reloading the map again to see if somehow it got corrupted in the loading process. Other than that, I'd make sure I had plenty of program memory left when I started Destinator.

Have tried to reload the map and the WM5 patch before, didn´change anything. The freeze happened at many different locations before. There is plenty of memory available: 155 MB fo data and 27 MB for programms. There should be a differnt reason. Dell support mentioned that Destinator PN is not included in their compatibility list, but might simply mean they did not test it. Follow up version of Destinator (6.0) is on the list.
