Heres an interesting discovery.
I have an Axim X51v running Windows Mobile 5.0.
I purchased a Globalsat BT-359w GPS receiver and loaded the software as per the instructions.
The install stopped short of the last screen.
I received an error message about GPSinfo.exe. The message said Microsoft would deal with the issue for no charge.
I called them and they said it was Dell's issue because they installed the software. After reminding the tech the message said Microsoft would fix it, not Dell, he just repeated himself, but offered that Dell should be able to fix the problem.
Called Dell, tech there needed the numbers on the Axim under the battery.
I pulled it out, got the numbers and re-installed the battery, causing a soft reset.
No problems.
But then!
Without my haveing done anything else, the GPS software finished loading properly and after setting the com ports, the unit was fully functional.

A nice bit of luck, but I would be interested if anyone knows why this would work.
By the way, the BT359 is a fine piece of gear, 6 satellites received even under a heavy roof.

Actually, this device is better than you know. It is able to retrieve its location quickly compared to the other SiRF3 devices I use. Its frankly - #1 in my books due to its easy to carry size and dependability.

Do you use it with x50v? I want to buy the BT359 but I'm not sure if the BT v2.0 will wotk with my Axim's BT v1.5.0
