I received OCN6 with 2007 maps and am impressed, so far. I sometimes get a pop-up that says I have out-of-date maps and I should go to www.i-go.com to update them.
I went to i-go and tried to register as instructed but it says either my license number is already registered or it is invalid. I've never registered it myself and didn't think I needed to.
Is this a fluke or did you folks register it before shipping?
BTW, super product and service...
Thanks for your feedback. Please switch your device on, wait 1-2 seconds, then run OCN6.

Overall, OCN6 is an impressive program. It's fast, the graphics are good and the routings seem to be spot-on so far. On the negative side, I do miss the ability to save routes and menu structure is far from intuative.... but that's minor stuff.

Hi hopper13: Thanks for your feedback. You said it does not save route?
Did you try to:
1) Recall route from your history?
or
2) Record route from "Manage Track Logs" -- you could export route in gpx format. This is a nice feature if you wish to save your route for tax reporting / documentation.

Thanks Joe, I will check it out. My primary concern is to simply be able to easily save and load routes that I travel often. I do not see them on the history list, only those waypoints (POI's) recently used.

hopper13: From history, you may locate previously visited:
1) address (icon=house),
2) waypoints (icon=red flag),
3) pushpin (icon=blue pin),
4) POI (icon=respective POI icon for the specific address)
or you may also permanently save any of the above (1 thru 3) as your customs POI so that you could recall them quickly next time by tapping on Find & Go, POI, MyPOI.
For example, from the main menu:
1) Tap on Map
2) Tap on Menu,
3) Tap on History,
4) Tap on one of the previous entry in the History listing page. The exact location of the specific location will be highlighted on the map view.
5) Select POI located on the bottom right corner,
6) Select Add POI, and follow the instruction to complete adding the POI.
This saved POI can quickly be recalled next time from your POI, and MyPOI screen.
Hope this helps. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks.

Thanks Joe. That is what I am doing. The only thing I cannot do is save a complex route. Sometimes, when in familiar territory, I have a route that is slightly better than that selected by an auto-routing mechanism. For instance, the trip from my home outside of Philadelphia to a favorite fishing location in the Catskills. I know to avoid a small town on part of that trip, but the computer does not. I will save some "work around" POI's as waypoints and reconstruct the trip as a new route each time I go.
Huh? I have run OCN6 several times (always have to turn the device on first ;P) and I still get the initial pop-up saying, "Some of the map files are outdated, please visit www.i-go.com."
I have had previously had several map applications installed as trials before settling on OCN6. Any chance this is being triggered due to something left behind in the registry?

To avoid certain areas smartly, save that waypoint also as Part 1 of 2: Fishing waypoint and Part 2 of 2 will be your destination for the Catskills. This way, the waypoint will force a reculculation as if you were stopping by.
The reculculated route will have automatically avoided the "small town" as part of the trip.

That is exactly what I am doing, but it still forces you to load a multiple waypoint route every time. It just would be nice to be able to save a route or reverse a route. No big deal. All-in-all, it seems to be a pretty good piece of software.
OK, joekee. The first boot-up today did not produce the pop-up about i-go.
Following your suggestions, I did find the lock in the down position and moved it to the up position. I looked at ABOUT|MAPS and saw nothing with R.I.P.. All maps showed "Data Source 2007......"
I re-booted and OCN6 froze at LANGUAGES during the initial splash screen. This is another issue I've discovered that happens 60% of the time and requires a soft reset.
Another reboot and I get the "maps out of date" pop-up. I go to ABOUT|MAPS and find multiple maps showing a lock icon. These are labeled USA_State-Name.fbl (State_Names are Nevada, North_Dakota, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, and Wisconsin). I re-booted again, getting the same outdated maps pop-up but with a different set of state files with the .fbl extension.
Man, OCN6 is fabulous when it does what one expects but, after using it on an emergency out of town trip, I find it very frustrating as I am not accustomed to it's nuances. I need to find decent instructions.

OCN Team replied to your questions on their forum.
"lenrev: We have just started to ship OCN6 with a Quick Start Guide 2-3 days ago. So, we are sorry that your shipment does not come with a printed copy of the Quick Start Guide.
In ref to R.I.P message: Please remove the miniSD card from the SD Adapter and try to reinsert. Then, wait for 2-3 seconds before you launch the program. Launching OCN6 as soon as you insert the memory card will cause this problem."

Doesn't that defeat the object of being able to insert the card and having it auto-run? If the limitation is in the OCN executable itself, could you have something akin to an autorun.inf that waits a few seconds before invoking OCN6?
