Deluo randomly crashes on me...

So have have an X30, deluo receiver...about 3 years old and some new iGuidance software.

There have been times when I would have to reformat my dell axim and reinstall everything to get it working again.

This morning I was late to a site because my axim could not detect my deluo receiver for whatever reason.

I reformatted once and need to find the software DVD

It's things like this that make me want to sell my axim which is old and the battery is starting to go anyways and get a good stand alone GPS unit for the car...something like a Garmin or TomTom.

Any suggestions on what to get at a lowish price?
I want something that will work well and talk though the directions...a touch screen is also needed.

This will be running on the car port...I think that's a 12VDC system...

edit:

Also ill mostly be using this in NJ but I may be moving in a year or so and so ill want to use it in whatever state.

OK i found the DVD and reinstalled the software and its working again but its only a matter of time before it crashes again.

my boss im currently working for had the same setup as my axim and deluo setup and he said he also had it crash all the time...

He eventually got a Garmin stand alone unit and so im looking for something like that now.

i have a deluo gps. what i noticed is that you MUST start the map software BEFORE pluging the gps in, other wise it freezes.
