Worried Am I using the wrong software or COM port, GPS not working with Pharos and Street Map

I first bought Microsoft Street Maps 2007 with the Pharos GPS device. Not knowing the it no longer provided a pocket option, I went on and purchased the Pharos CompactFlash Adapter II so I could use it. But when I use software like Windows Live and Google Maps to connect to GPS it does not find it. I know that it says to check the COM ports, but I don't what port to change the GPS settings to under Settings>System>GPS.

Please help me to know am I on the right track. Do I have to right devices to make it work.

beezo, welcome to Aximsite. Can you provide a little more information on what you are trying to do? From your post it sounds like you are trying to use a Pharos receiver with MS S&T on a laptop. If that is correct, have you installed the drivers for the laptop?

I have the Dell Axim X51v and I have the CF adapter that uses the Microsoft Street Maps 2007 GPS receiver. I am trying to use Windows Live and Google Maps but neither can find the GPS. On Live, it asks me which COM port, but I am not sure which one to use and when I go to GPS under settings and system, it has two places, one for Program and Device COM and you can't use on the same one.

Beezo, can you provide some more information? For example, on your X51, what com ports have you tried? What messages are you getting? Have you been able to connect to the GPS card with any of the utilities that came with it? Any other programs been able to use the GPS data? Are there lights on the GPS? If so, what are they doing? How are you connecting to Windows Live and Google Maps from the X51? What do you mean, "it has two places, one for Program and Device COM and you can't use on the same one?"
