Will depend on the particular device and as a general rule, newer designs will take less power than older ones. As a ballpark figure the Haicom site says their 303III takes 90 mA at 3.3V. The latest chipsets must be about half of that as evidenced by the i-Blue 737 (which has Bluetooth in addition to the GPS part) which consumes around 45mA.
