Don't know about more detail, but I've seen both and it looks so much clearer and easy to read on a VGA screen. You can enable all the rubbish like side road names and it is still relatively usable, unlike on QVGA where it looks like someone has thrown up over your map...

It seems to show a larger area of the map

I've played with a friends installation of TT6 on a x51v and the one thing I didn't like about it was the lack of detail like side street names (US maps). Where do you turn that on? I never found a setting and moved on to iGuidance 3.

There isn't one, you either run it on a VGA device and it looks better, or you run it on a QVGA device and it looks awful... I have actually used a QVGA Tomtom device and my VGA X51v which is where I base my opinions.

Axim x51v

I use the MvRTrueVGA_v1.3.cab. to set up my dell axim x51v to VGA mode.

When I run the Tomtom 6, I can only see it at QVGA mode. Any thought can help it run at VGA mode?

Thanks!

Allen

My friend runs TT6 on a 3.5" QVGA PND. Compared to my x51v, the street names, icons, and instructions are clearly bigger and easier to read on his QVGA. Of course my x51v is sharper and shows more details in 2d and 3d mode. However, at least to my poor eyesight, I feel QVGA is better in driving.
