eTrex/eMap

Hey guys,

First of all a couple of general questions. Complete GPS novice here but I like the idea of being able to use a GPS with my Axim and can get my hands on a Garmin eTrex or eMappretty easily.

My wants:

* Little dot on my mapping software to tell me where I am.
* Routing functions would be nice...

If I get the eMap I can really do almost everything I want on it I THINK (it does routing right) whereas with the eTrex I'm relying on the Axim to eat the data and spit out the information I require.

I don't want to shell out a ton more dough on software either but I hear that Pocket Streets is very limited...

Bearing in mind that the Axim and eTrex or Axim and eMap will be my combinations, what would you guys recommend?

Question

Does no-one have any eTrex/eMap experience?

BTW - I have tried MS Pocket Streets on the Axim, and the only thing it seems to do is show you where you are on the map you have loaded. I was only able to get that much working a couple of times. Most of the time I needed to re-boot the Axim because it stopped responding. Pocket streets on it's own doesn't have routing/navigation capabilities.
