New to the site,

I switched from my Axim to the Cingular 8125 thinking I could use the same GPS unit and software. I have a Dell Bluetooth Navteq GPS unit with Dell GPS Navigation System software. Software is loaded and the 8125 sees the GPS unit fine. I start the software and for some reason it won't make a connection - no satellites are discovered. What am I doing wrong? Dell won't help me and Cingular won't help me. Any advice? I thought for sure that they were going to be compatible.

You listed two different problems: "it won't make a connection - no satellites are discovered." Which is it? Is the Cingular connecting and how do you know that? What do you mean "no satellites are discovered?" What tells you that?

I am guessing you need to configure your GPS software to use some specific ports.

You need to use COM7 for the Dell GPS software to work properly.

iGuidance (Dell Edition) is locked to either COM7 or COM8 for the Dell BT GPS module.

But under WM5, it also wants the crappy MS BT stack. Several of us X51v users tried to use the Widcom stack, only to find that the GPS would always lock-up.
