Tomtom 6 on X50v very laggy
I've recently completed my GPS setup on my X50v.
It's running TT6 and it is laggy compaired to TT5.2 on my X5.
When I'm driving along there is about a 2 to 3 second lag from passing a road to the TT passing it. Plays havic with my speed camera alerts :).
The X50v is running in Real VGA mode, do you think that this is the issue?
If so what alternatives do I have that are as good as TT6.
Many Thanks,
Paul Ryder

I have TT6 on my X50v and it works perfectly. Do you have any other programs running in the background? If you own Memmaid (memory management app) you can move shared DLL (Dynamic-link library) to a storage card/ROM which might free up some considerable space in RAM. Also/Otherwise I would clear out any unwanted memory hogging programs data in RAM, i'm thinking temp internet files in the Windows directory and unwanted apps. Also what ROM version is your X50v using?

Hi,
The Rom version is A05.
Nothing else is running, according to Switcher Bar..
Ram has 18MB free, Storage though only has 3MB free. would that make a difference?
Many Thanks for the Reply..

Does it run ok in 'demo' mode ie when you are viewing a route WITHOUT it being hooked up to the gps receiver via bluetooth? Also is it the standard Tom Tom receiver or a different make and what sort of signal is it getting whilst your out and about? Have you tried installing it to a different card or directly to RAM?

Upgraded to the latest maps 675 and it seems a lot better.
I've an Evermore BT received
I get 4 bars in the TT display
The menu's are not as responsive as I'd like.. When I type a name in TT, if I'm quick I can make it miss letters. The letter on screen blinks to black, but doesn't register. Does this sound normal.
Not sure what I would get from watching the Demo as it's physical lag that causes the issue..
Thanks for the reply though.. I still love my Axim...

Never had any issue with connecting it.
Just choose the 'Other BT' option in TT6 and choose the right Serial Port.. 7 in my case.
