i am thinking about getting a rino 120 to use as my everyday gps and would love to hook it to my axim. does anyone know if this is possible? i think (from what i've read here and on garmins site) that it should work with the serial cradel and a null modem adaptor...im new to the whole pda scene so any help is greatly appreciated.

Check out PC-Mobile http://pc-mobile.net/gps.htm . They seem to have cables for most GPS/PPC combinations.

However, I'm told with these cables you cannot transfer waypoints between your GPS and the Axim.

I use my Magellan for military applications extensivly, using MGRS co-ord system directly with military maps, so I already had the GPS, and I needed it for other work thus I couldnt justify the expense of getting a CF GPS for $150+.

My setup is the same, only Im using a Magellan GPS-315 and Magellan serial data cable, all else is the same.

Ive used both Magellan and Garmin. When I got my Mag, Garmin were not that popular. Now, the market appears to be 75%+ Garmin... Which I dont understand, I like the Magellan GPS units *much more*. (Opinions will vary)

do you grms on your axim?? if so what program are you using? the onoly one i've found that states anything about grms is fugawi (??). thanks,

I only use MGRS on my GPS, Im hoping to develope a program to use military maps on my Axim connected to a GPS. Its a lot more work than it sounds, so wish me luck!
