I have the pc-mobile cable. I've been trying to get the above combo to work for a LONG time, doing everything suggested (start Streets & Trips and select com1, acquire signal with eTrex, THEN connect. No luck. Axim hangs, or seems to, requiring a re-boot.

After reading some messages here, I installed gpsengine (it worked) and mapopolis (it worked). Before I shell out the money for Mapopolis or another program, I'd like to find out if anybody has gotten Streets & Trips working with the same combination I've got. For one thing, I already have S&T, and for another I like working with it. But if it won't work with my GPS I need to buy an alternative.
