Socket BT GPS, Belkin BT CF, and Pocket Streets
I have an Axim (400 MHz, PPC2002), a Belkin CF Bluetooth adapter card, and a Socket Bluetooth GPS receiver. I've been trying to get all of this to work with MS Pocket Streets, but so far I haven't had much success.
When I set up a partnership with my GPS using the Bluetooth Manager, the only options I have are to set it to COM7 (inbound) and COM8 (outbound). This works fine with VITO Navigator, which does basic GPS coordinates and tracking; it connects to the GPS on COM8 and communicates fine.
However, when I try to set up the GPS with Pocket Streets, it only gives me the option of using COM1, COM2, and COM3. Since none of these are options in Belkin's Bluetooth Manager, I end up stuck.
I've tried tweaking the registry to set Pocket Streets to use COM8, but that didn't work. It gave me a message that the port was available but no signal was present, leading me to believe that it wasn't actually looking at COM8 since VITO works fine. I looked for a place to tweak the settings for the Bluetooth Manager to allow me to set the BT GPS on one of the COM ports that Pocket Streets supports, but I was not able to find the correct key.
At this point I'm stuck. I like Pocket Streets (despite the lack of turn-by-turn directions it works well for me), but I'd really like to get it interfaced with my GPS. Can anybody suggest anything that might help me accomplish this?
