PocketMap Navigator Trial

I know there is a trial of the Atlas or City Guide, but I would like to see how it performs with GPS on and how accurate it is. Is there any way to obtain time-limit or feature-limited demo version of the software for my Axim?

Thank You.

Thanks Pal. Not sure how I missed that. With Mapopolis gone, I am looking for alternatives, and I can't say that I am a big fan of Destinator or TomTom on my Axim X5. :(

Have you looked at iGudance? I have it with a Holux GR-271 and it works great and very accurate. :approve:

Hyedipin,

Pocketmap hasn't released a new version of Navigator since 2004, and hasn't released an update to their software since February 2005. I see their website says a WM5 compatible update is coming, but I would look elsewhere if I were you. This software is WAY out of date and the company has made no commitments to releasing a new version or updating it. I think you'd be doing yourself a favor to try something else.

Regards,

Gary

Thanks.

I checked iGuidance, it looks too crowded :( I guess I am way too attached to Mapopolis, since it was the first one I ever tried, and loved the simplicity and operations. I hope they come back in another platform. I think their maps should be accurate for another year or so. I just have to check the version I have.

Meantime, the search for the next best mapping/GPS software continues.

Thank you for your email. We apologize if we have not announced anything for a while.
All of us at Space Machine have been working hard to create the next Navigator. We just can't announce anything yet at the moment.

Many thanks for your support.

Give me a break. That's the same response you've been giving folks for almost TWO YEARS. How long do you expect folks to wait when other companies are making regular updates? You've been unable to "announce anthying yet at the moment" for so long, once can only surmise that 1. there is no update, or 2. your company is unable to keep up with updating software in a timely manner, in which case folks will probably go elsewhere (as I suspect most of us who go tired of waiting did).
