EDIT: The thread title should read "... xfer desktop routes & waypoints to PDA?"

I've tried Garmin Mobile XT (v4.10.10w) and TomTom Navigator 6 and while both seem to claim that you can transfer routes and waypoints from their respective desktop software (Mapsource for Garmin and TT Home for TomTom), I still haven't been able to do this.

So I'm wondering if there actually is any decent GPS software with a PC desktop component that will allow the transfer of routes and waypoints to the PDA navigation software - is there?

I use Garmin GPS10 on my X30, and Mapsource on the desktop. I have no problems transfering routes & waypoints back and forth. All I do is click the transfer menu item it the top of the MapSource soft ware and click which way I want to go.

I have never saved a route but have saved tracks and waypoints.
I have used several free programs to do this including gpsutility, DNR Garmin, USAphotomaps, and a Google Earth add-on called GPS Visualizer. I think at least some these have the abity to deal with routes.
