Can anyone recommend a good data logger GPS?

I hated every minute about the i 747 iblue receiver.

It is soo buggy!

I dont know why it stop logging at 19%. There is still plenty of memory.

Also when I try to clear my waypoints, it would just keep crashing.

This product is not just ready.

I like the data logging thing though.

Anyone know of any good data logging GPS receiver?

Delorme has one, older technology, though, so it's a tradeoff. You can also look at data logging using GPSGate, which works with any/all GPS receivers.

The one I've used when data logging is the Wintec WBT-100

Has worked very well to log trips.

I have a DeLorme Earthmate BlueLogger BT GPSr, which appears to do this. The problem is that I lost the interface software and haven't been able to find a copy of it.

I know there are several PDA apps that log tracks, you may consider just going the software route.

If you don't need Bluetooth function, Royaltek RGM-3800 sounds like a good choice. It's got SiRF III chipset and 64Mb for 650,000 points. The included software is Locr. I have used the beta version from Locr website which is pretty easy to use.

Royaltek RGM-3800 GPS Data Logger (SiRF III GSC3f/LP, WAAS, 650,000 Waypoints) (Introductory Offer)

I think you're an isolated case. No other member at gpspassion who uses the I-blue 747 has the same problem as you do since ver. 2.2. You might be using datalog ver. 2.1, this is a buggy version. If you are, try to install the latest driver and utility. 2.2 is a lot faster and a very stable version. I have not experienced any error in downloading since versoin 2.2 build 59.

Hi dvmed, I considering to buy i-Trek Z1, I think it's same as i-blue 757.
Would You please share about your i-blue:
1. Is MTK chipset bad enough to pedestrian mode?
2. Can we setting Static Navigation to Off mode to fix it?
3. Semsons answer my email (very quickly) that the new firmware has improved the
performance for low speed tracking, have you try it ?

thanks for your attention

Hi erc31,

1. I don't have issues when using the 747 in pedestrian mode except for the bearing not registered at speeds below 5mph. The tracks are not as smooth as when driving but they are accurate. I can send you a sample track to show you how accurate it is.

2. As of this time, AFAIK static navigation cannot be turned off on the mtk chipsets. Someone suggested to set the rate to 2 Hz, but I havn't tried it yet.

3. Thanks for the info, I'll try it as soon as I find the time.
